Himedere refers to the character who wishes to be regarded as a princess or a queen. Generally, this feeling works only for the person she loves and attracts. For this, the character does not need to be of blue blood.

Meaning of Himedere Dere

The word Himedere is an abbreviation of “him” and “deredere.” “Hime”  (姫ひめ) means “princess.”  “Deredere” (デレデレ),  means “lovey-dovey.” These characters get the princess complexion in their minds. They always want to be served and seen like the royal ones. One can say this is the female equivalent of oujidere.

What Is The Himedere Dere Type In Anime?

The history of himedere shows the root of their insecurities. Specific moments of abandonment, neglect, and betrayal commonly cause the behaviour to become notorious.  If anyone can see past the ego of Himedere, they could find their true nature and befriend them.

This type of character is generally similar to a snooty princess who comes off as arrogant, self-centred, and vain at first. But still have the power of love and friendship. These characters soften over time after learning valuable lessons in the process.
