What is the series about?

The God’s council assembles every 1000 years and decides the fate of humanity. However, after 7 million years have passed, the gods decide that humans are too far gone and must be made extinct. The valkyrie, Brunhild, suggests giving the humans one last chance as a way to prove their worth. The gods agree to this and decide to hold a battle of Ragnarok. In this tournament, 13 notable humans will fight against 13 powerful Gods, where they will duel to their death.

If the Humans have more than seven wins, humanity will be spared. To assist the humans against these powerful Gods, each human will be provided with a valkyrie. This valkyrie can change into a powerful weapon specifically for the person who is wielding the weapon. This is at the risk of the valkyrie losing their life if the user is killed.

The anime has various types of imagery and even has Biblical references where we see The Creation of Adam’s Fresco by Michelangelo done on the Sistine Chapel.
