Writing a manga isn’t an easy job. The author not only has to come with an amazing plotline but has to also possess creative and artistic skillsets to amplify their work’s appeal. However, all of this becomes null and void when our beloved mangakas begin losing their health.
That is exactly what happened to our beloved manga artist Kaya Haruko who serialized Shu’s light novel series The Misfit Of Demon King Academy into a manga of the same name. For all the readers who don’t know, Kaya Haruko’s manga serialization has been canceled as the author is currently undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer. In their official statement, Kaya announced that they have been aware of the disease since 2019 and continued with the work till their body allowed. However, due to the deteriorating health conditions, Kaya has finally decided to step down.
The entire team showed immense regret for the manga to end this way and treasured their time working on it. However, The Misfit Of Demon King Academy producers have announced the renewal of the anime for season 2.
A Brief Introduction To The Misfit Of Demon King Academy
The Misfit Of Demon King Academy or History’s Strongest Demon King Reincarnates and Goes to School with His Descendants is a light novel series that began serializing in 2017. Later the series was further serialized into a manga by none other than Kaya Haruko from 2018 till July 2020. The series has been animated into an anime and Its season 2 is currently in the works.

The story of the show revolves around the demon king Anos Voldigoad who, 2000 Years ago, makes a pact with the human hero Kanon. The pact was for Anos to end his life in order to stop the constant war between the demon race and other species and bring the world to a balance.
Now, Anos has once again been reincarnated only to find the demon world in complete ruin. The demons who are the descendants of Anos rule the lower mixed demons with tyranny and think of them as trash. Seeing the world he gave his life up for in complete disorder, Anos now decides to once again take up his role as the Demon King. Still, he first must graduate from the demon king academy to reclaim his former title, Only to be named the biggest misfit around.
