The fantasy anime series Redo of Healer concluded with its last episode in March this year. As such, fans wonder if the controversial show will get a new season or go down like a lead balloon?

The Plot of Redo of Healer

The story is a revenge-themed fantasy with some sensitive content. It has caused a great controversy around the show. In the series, a young healing magician Keyaru realizes his potential as a healing class mage. Keyaru, who has been utterly abused and tortured because of him being a healing mage, wants to take revenge on all those who destroyed his life. To accomplish this task, he travels back in time.

The Controversy Surrounding The Series

The series shows a very dark theme of revenge, torture, and abuse. The protagonist, Keyaru, was repeatedly tortured and raped by many for fulfilling their motives. The lead character’s consecutive breakdown and his actions are also very dark points of the show. The series revolves around a gritty, complicated storyline with many contentious scenes.  Therefore it was released in three versions- censored, streaming exclusive, and an “ uncensored complete recovery version.” You can stream the series on HIDIVE. Redo of Healer Season 2 Release Date

Season 1 of the series debuted on 13 January 2021 and ended on 31 March, featuring 12 episodes. After this, Studio TNK has issued no official statement about season 2. Viewers believe that a new season if produced, might be announced in winter this year. Fans still do not expect the new season to be out any soon. Season 2 might be out in 2022 or 2023 and not before that. Because season 1 premiered after more than a year from the announcement, this might as well be very true.

What Do The Creators Of The Series Think?

Writer Rui Tsukitohinted on Twitter that season 2 might happen. In January this year, Rui took to Twitter and informed fans that if the DVD sells well, then season 2 could take place. He also requested fans to support the novel’s sale, without which the anime won’t develop further. Named ‘ Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi,’ the series started as a novel and was adapted into a light novel series.

The release of season 2 is an improbable event, considering the heated scandal around the series. Nevertheless, fans are optimistic about a new season. The popularity of the series in Japan indeed asks for a new season, and fans can’t wait.
