There are some stories that take time to develop, some stories that are underrated, and then there are stories like Jujutsu Kaisen, Tokyo Revengers, and of course Attack On Titans that continue to break all the damned records. It is not very often when we get to see a series rise to such great heights as Tokyo revengers. A manga that in September of 2020 had over 5 million copies in circulation and just within a span of a year has managed to break all the records by having over 40 million copies in circulation.
This exponential growth of the series written geniusly by Ken Waiku is an achievement that is catching everyone’s attention. Not to mention that the anime series of the manga is also breaking a lot of records with a lot of episodes garnering a perfect 10/10 rating from IMDb and the show overall receiving a whopping 8.5/10 from IMDb and an 8.8/10 from MyAnimeList.net.
The intricate plot of the series and the time paradox created time and time again, plus all the gut-wrenching villains and scenarios, is what makes this show an absolute chartbuster. With no way of knowing what’s going to happen next, Ken Waiku makes sure to leave almost every chapter on a cliffhanger, making the audience beg for more. The intense suspense of the series and the geniusly written plot are something that many of us have never seen before, making Tokyo Revengers one of the best animes to launch this year.
So, is this the new Gen-Z shounen mania we’re seeing right now? Remember the time when Bleach, Naruto, and One-Piece ruled them all? Can this be the turning point of the anime industry and lead to the announcement of the new crown jewels of shounen, a position previously held by Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece? We’ll have to wait and find out! Make sure to watch all the latest episodes of the Tokyo Revengers on websites like Crunchyroll, and do not forget to check out the trailer, the link to which is attached below.
