Japanese Voice Actress Sayaka Kanda Commits Suicide

The Japanese Entertainment industry has been dealt a huge blow, with the sudden passing of the 35-year-old actress Sayaka Kanda. Sayaka was a bright and talented young woman who was most popularly known for giving her voice to Elsa from frozen in the Japanese Dub of the movie and had a huge career ahead of her.

However, what could be only defined as heartbreaking news shook the community to its core when it was announced that the actress was found dead, in the garden of a 22 storied hotel. The hotel authorities rushed her to the hospital, only for the doctors to pronounce her dead on arrival.

Sayaka was staying on the 14th floor of the hotel, and the police are suspecting this to be a case of suicide. However, her death is currently under investigation and the authorities are not ruling out any possibilities.

But, the fact of the matter is whatever may be the cause of her death, it was too soon for her to go. Sayaka Kanda was the only child of voice actors Masaki Kanda and Seiko Matsudo and was previously married to Mitsu Murata.

Her fans and colleagues from all over the world expressed their condolences on social media and urged people to seek help on the Japanese suicide helpline which provides free counseling to people suffering from depression.

With Sayaka Kanda’s death suspected to be suicide, the entertainment industry of Japan has once again come under the spotlight as suicide has become one of the leading causes of death in the country. Although the reason behind Sayaka’s death and the cause of her suicide is still unclear, it truly is a piece of very shocking and sad news to the industry.

This is the second consecutive year, where new and talented actors have resorted to suicide with one of the most bright talents Haruma Miura also committing suicide on July 18th, 2020, by hanging. 

This goes on to show that the human psyche is truly frightening and it is unfortunate that some of us find death to be easier than living. Therefore, to all our readers out there, while expressing our condolences to the wonderful voice actress, we also urge people to talk to somebody, ask for help, and reach out before it’s too late.
