Violet Evergarden is a Japanese light novel written by Kana Akatsuki and illustrated by Akiko Takase. The book won the grand prize in 2014 by Kyoto Animation. The anime series adaption of the light novel got aired in Japan; the series also won Best Animation award in 2019. The film’s spin-off Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memories Doll got premiered in Japan on September 6, 2019, and will continue screening for three weeks.
In the film, there are Auto Memory Dolls, people who are initially employed by a scientist named Dr. Orland. These dolls help to assist Dr.Orlands blind wife Mollie in writing her novels. The main cast of the film includes Violet Evergarden(voiced by Yui Ishikawa), Claudia Hodgins(voiced by Takehito Koyasu), Gilbert Bougainvillea(voiced by Daisuke Namikawa).

The films release date has got delayed due to some reasons. Before the announcement of the delay, it was going to get released on January 10, 2020. As of now, the film has officially delayed. As per the sources, animation and production work of the film is still ongoing.
