Synopsis
In The World Ends With You anime, A young kid named Neku Sakuraba finds himself with two black pins. The pins allow him to read the minds of everyone around him in the crowded city of Shibuya. However, these pins also enable him to see the “Noise,” hostile creatures capable of “erasing” people from existence. Neku receives a message about a quest that will erase him if he fails after realising that he is confined within the city’s borders. Neku meets a girl named Shiki Misaki while fending off a Noise attack, and she invites him to form a partnership pact with her to combat the monsters.
Shiki reveals that she and Neku have been accepted as “Players” in the “Reaper’s Game,” a seven-day event with various missions each day. As Neku and Shiki fight to survive each day, they meet new Players and Reapers, combat more substantial Noise, and uncover the truth behind the game’s enigma.
