The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 2 is confirmed! Fans of the Isekai genre are all aware of this dark fantasy anime which debuted in 2019. Now after season 2’s confirmation, fans can’t wait to see their beloved Shield Hero in action.

The anime, which ran for 25 episodes, is based on a light novel by Aneko Yusagi. The story revolves around Naofumi Iwatani, a youth from Japan who finds himself in a parallel world. There he becomes a member of ‘The Four Cardinal Heroes’ and plays  the role of the ‘Shield Hero.’ The story grows as we see Naofumi struggling with corruption, disbelief while trying to make a place for himself. Now season 2 will tell us more about the adventures of this hero.

The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 2 Release Date

Crunchyroll gave an official announcement for season 2 at the 2019 Expo. Season 3 was also announced at the 2019 Crunchyroll Expo. In 2020’s virtual expo, Crunchyroll said that season 2 would be released in 2021. After this, at its light novel expo, Kadokawa said that season 2 would be out in October 2021. After all of this hype, fans can’t wait to see season 2 back on screen. Crunchyroll also took to Twitter to announce season 2.

Is the Trailer for The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 2 Available?

Fortunately, Yes! At the Crunchyroll Expo, the streaming giant dropped a surprise bomb-the trailer for season 2! The trailer shows Naofumi, Filo and Raphtalia. Check out the trailer below:

The trailer does not tell us much, though. We see Naofumi standing in a courtroom, and then we watch him leave.

Expectations For Season 2

Fans hope to see some extreme action in season 2. Hopefully, we would see the trio traveling more and meeting some new characters. The first season covered five volumes of the novel, so some netizens believe that season 2 would cover another five books. Also, we might see some new villains (like a giant turtle!)

The director, Masato Jinbo, left a special message for fans which is divided into two parts. The first one teases the Spirit Turtle, travels to another world, and how the trio will implement all they learned in the first season. The other message mentions new characters- Rishia and Kizuna and a question asking what fans think about season 2.
