In the opening of Season 2, there was a battle against Rem and Crusch versus Lye and Regulas. Moreover, when Lye and Regulas attack Rem and Crusch, things get pretty brutal. Crusch loses his arm in the battle. Note that Lye, with his abilities, clears the memory of Rem.
After Subaru found that Rem lost his memories, he helps his friend. Subaru like always kills himself to go back in time. However, things doesn’t worked his way this time. So, the condition of his friends didn’t get better. Moreover, Felis starts blaming Emilia for the loss. She wants Crusch not to ever talk with Emilia again.
