Nickelodeon officially announces the expansion of the last Airbender universe by releasing a new animated film. This film will be set in the same world as the acclaimed TV series initially aired in 2005. This film is the first in a long line of Avatar projects released by the studio.
Nickelodeon is launching Avatar Studios, a division designed to create multiple animated series and movies based on ‘AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER’.

Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra proved to be big international hits, and fans are blowing up with excitement on the new film’s announcement. The popularity of the series soared when the series was officially added on Netflix. The original creators of the series, Michael DiMartino and Brian Konietzko, are working as co-chiefs in the studio, allowing them to overlook the film’s animation and making.

When is the release date of ‘The Last Airbender’ Animated Film?
The studios have announced no official date of release as of now. Production of the movie is said to begin from this year, 2021. However, animated movies are extremely time-consuming, so viewers can only expect the release sometime in 2022 or 2023. The popularity of the series does make it a high priority for Nickelodeon.
The film will receive a theatrical release through Paramount and be available on a few streaming services. It will be uploaded on Nickelodeon’s linear and digital platforms as well.

As of now, the plot of the animated film has not been released or hinted at. The universe is vast, and the film could revolve around anything. The trailer is still in its production stage, and it will be a while before it is released.
