Kodansha Going Against The Pirates Worldwide

Kondasha has made it clear that its fight against manga pirates worldwide will continue; in no way will it turn a blind eye to unauthorized uploads and won’t be tolerating copyright infringements.

On the internet, people have been sharing the so what called “SPOILERS” or “SCREENSHOTS” of the manga and “Manga dialogues” without having the proper authority.

The pirates seem to have been most active during the time of the pandemic.

Kodansha claims that they will take proper legal actions against the people (Pirates) who upload manga images and text unauthorized, regardless of their country.

As stated by a Japanese publisher:

“The number of websites posting all the details of a manga’s content is increasing one after the other, and this is becoming a major problem,” said Shogakukan’s editorial department, adding that it will be resolute in defending the rights of creators.”

The publisher of Attack on Titans, Kodansha, also claims that they have already taken legal action against multiple accounts on the internet, which have uploaded manga images and text without proper legal permission.

Copyright In Japan

The copyright laws in Japan have changed since January 2021.

If unlawful actions are taken anywhere worldwide regarding copyright and caught red-handed, it could result in a few years in prison, also with an approx fine of 1 million yen.

The information has been made official as it has all been ruled out by the Tokyo District Court.
