Ever since Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 ended in March, all any fan could ever talk about is when will the season 2 get released!? The series, which has climbed to immense success in just 3 years of its run, has become one of the most-watched shows on every anime streaming site. It was the second most-watched anime on Crunchyroll and currently has over 50 million copies in circulation. After its season 1 MAPPA, the official studio announced that they are currently in the process of making a movie titled Jujutsu Kaisen “0”. The plot of the movie is a prequel to the events of season 1 and will give a background of the characters that are about to be introduced in the next season. The movie’s story will revolve around Yuji’s senpai Rika Orimoto and Yuta Okaykotsu and their lives in “Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School” before Yuji’s arc came along. The name Yuta as you might remember has been mentioned quite a few times in the anime with none other than Gojo Satoru, the strongest character in the entire series acknowledging his strength and deeming him worthy to one day be strong enough to surpass him.

The movie titled Jujutsu Kaisen “0” will hit the big screens in Japan on the 24th of December 2021. Therefore, a lot of fans are now wondering whether the studio will release a season 2 in 2021 or not, and they’re not wrong because this is exactly what happened with Kimetsu No Yaiba. As the studio is busy animating the movie, season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen might likely be officially pushed back. If the studio follows the trend, then season 2 would come out in October 2021. However, given how the studio is planning to make a movie first, it is very likely that the release date of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 might be pushed as far as the fall of 2022.
