How Not To Summon A Demon Lord is a Japanese light novel written by Yukiya Murasaki. Season 1 of the series first began airing in April 2018 and since then has managed to get a cult following of fans. Due to its rapidly rising popularity the show, much to the delight of the fans has now returned for a season 2 and we absolutely cannot wait! The Plot

The show touches a plot that a lot of us can relate to. We all have some habits that we want to change. However, we never get enough courage to actually go through with it and in the end, we get stuck with our anxieties and our problems.

How Not To Summon A Demon Lord is the story of Takuma Sakamoto a hikikomori. A hikikomori is a person who is extremely socially withdrawn just like our protagonist. All Sakamoto wants is to play his games most of them ironically being the famous social interactive games. However, One day out of nowhere Sakamoto gets sucked up into one of his favorite games Cross Reverie.

His appearance is just like the appearance of the character he plays- The Demon Lord Diablo. He finds out that the girls who summoned him named Rem and Shera, summoned him to make him their servant. However, when they use their spell, due to his demon lord ring, it gets reflected towards the spell caster and in a strange turn of events the girls end up being Sakamoto’s servants. Forced to follow him around with a leash on their necks.

However, for the socially withdrawn Sakamoto, nothing could be worse. Now not only does he have to talk to these girls, but he also has to figure out a way to get out of this world. In the end, he is forced to get out of his shell and act more like the character he is playing. By helping other people and his slaves Rem and Shera, Sakamoto embarks on a journey that would change his and other’s life forever.
