Demon Slayer Season 2: The Red District Arc Will Now Also Be Available On Funimation!

In recent years, there have been some names in the anime community that have made their way into the hearts of millions worldwide. Shows like Demon Slayer or Kimetsu No Yaiba, Attack On Titans, and Jujutsu Kaisen have taken all the glory, and for a good reason! We all know that when Naruto Shippuden Ended in 2014, the anime community was left with a huge hole. The once crown jewel of shounen was now over. Amazing series like Bleach and Naruto, the stories we had been watching since we were kids, left a huge gap in our hearts.

I mean to even reach the level of these two great masterpieces was a feat. However, with the release of Attack on Titans in 2013 and Demon Slayer in 2019, it seemed as though a new shift was coming. To the point that if you haven’t heard of an anime named Demon Slayer, you’ve probably been deaf your entire life.

The beautiful story and the marvelous anime adaptation by Ufotable studio literally changed the lives of millions. The show, which everyone was skeptical about watching first, became a cult classic, with the fan base growing exponentially! So much so that the Kimetsu No Yaiba manga surpassed the sales of One Piece and became the second-highest manga in terms of gross selling, coming behind only Attack On Titan in the final arc.

Therefore, with this huge success undoubtedly comes huge money! And sponsors and people dying to sell its merchandise all over the world. Thus, it comes as no surprise that Funimation is also looking forward to getting its hand on some of the fun. The studio that has given us animes like Tokyo Ghoul, The Promised Neverland, and even more exciting shows was also looking to add a superstar to its itinerary, and they knew exactly what they wanted.

We all know how insanely successful Mugen Train was. I mean, the hype was soo much that the stills from the movie theatres seemed like a pre-covid wonderland. Even though the movie wasn’t properly able to make its international debut because of you know what!  Mugen train was still the highest-grossing movie in the history of Japan!

However, the fun is just getting started. With the upper moons finally introduced in the movie, we all know that shit is about to get insanely real. Because what makes a good shounen anime into a great shounen anime are its terrifying villains, and we have got 12 of them lined up and ready for us, including Kibutsushi Muzan. Not to mention with one of the hashiras down, we are literally 8 against 12, and the odds are not at all in Tanjiro’s favor.

Will Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Nezuko step up? Or will we see a lot more deaths than we had anticipated? Make sure to watch the latest Demon slayer season 2, the red light district arc releasing this fall on Funimation and Crunchyroll.
