Eighty-Six is an upcoming Japanese romantic, thriller, sci-fi, mecha anime television series adaptation by A-1 pictures set to be premiering in April 2021.
The anime series is based on a fictional Japanese fictional novel, “86,” originally written and created by Asato Asato and illustrated by Sharabi.

Originally published by ASCII Media Works while Yen Press published the English version of the novel from February 10th, 2017 – present with six volumes present at the time.
Later in October 2018, the light novel’s manga adaptation begins to serialize in Square Enix’s seinen manga magazine Young Gangan illustrated by Motoki Yoshihara. It is currently serializing with a total of one volume now.

The manga series also has a spin-off titled “86: Operation High School” illustrated by Suzume Somemiya, serialized in Media Factory’s seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Alive from June 27th, 2020 – present with a total of one volume at present.
Release Date and Where to Watch
The anime television series adaptation of the light novel ‘86’ season one was announced in March 2020.
Directed by Toshimara Ishii and produced by Nobuhiro Nakayama, the series is supposed to premiere on April 11th, 2021
The first episode is titled “Undertaker” and will be airing on large numbers of broadcasting networks.

The opening theme of the series is set to be “3 minutes 29 seconds” (3-bun 29-byo) by Hitorie, while the ending theme will be Sawani Hiroyuki: Mizuki’s “Avid.”
About The Series
The plot is about a war between two nations, The Empire of Giad and The Republic of San Magnolia.
For the last nine years continuously, The Empire of Giad and The Republic of San Magnolia have been at war.
The war resulted in The Republic of San Magnolia suffering great misfortunes and immense damages caused by the inventions of powerful machinery by The Empire of Giad.
The Republic of San Magnolia found a way to fight back by creating their own war machines known as “Juggernauts.”
The Republic of San Magnolia created juggernauts to fight on their own in the war. Still, in the end, they become nothing more than puppets controlled by children who are underage soldiers.
The story’s main character is the captain of the crew handling the Juggernauts, Shinei “Shin” Nauzen.
