A Brief Introduction To The Plot

[BACKGROUND]

In our world, after we die, most of our souls pass on to the other side. However, some souls linger behind and become evil spirits. However, an evil spirit losing its humanity over time turns into monstrous curses taking many lives throughout the world. Therefore to fight these curses ranked from Grade four (the weakest) to special grade (the strongest), sorcerers exist. Sorcerers are exceptional individuals who can see these spirits and can harness the cursed spirit energy to fight evil with evil.

The story revolves around a young high schooler named Itadori Yuuji. Yuuji is a powerful boy who is good at all kinds of sports. However, he chooses to stay at the occult research club because it gives him time to tend to his ailing hospitalized grandfather and his sole guardian. Before dying, Yuuji’s grandfather tells him that he was given a strong body for a reason and that he must protect people around him so that on his death bed, he is surrounded by friends, unlike him, who just has his grandson.

Keeping this in mind, Yuuji encounters Megumi Fushiguro, a student at Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School, a school specialised to teach sorcerers who is looking for a fatal special grade cursed object, the finger of sukuna, the king of curses. He tracks the object to Yuuji, who informs Megumi that he gave the object to his seniors in the occult club. Megumi tells Yuuji that if they tamper with the finger, they will surely die.

Both of them rush to the high school to find all the curses released, and in a desperate attempt to save Megumi and his seniors, Yuuji ends up swallowing the finger. One of the most cursed objects in the whole world and ends up reincarnating the king of demons, the Ryomen Sukuna, who is in a class of its own.
