A Brief Introduction To The Plot

The show’s story revolves around a world where the art of alchemy plays a crucial role in governing the world. Alchemy is a scientific process where equivalent exchange works, where humans have the power to transform the properties of matter and create new things from it. However, the law of equivalence is absolute, and above all, there are some forbidden techniques that some alchemists must never do as everything comes at the cost of a huge price.

The story of the show revolves around two brothers Alphonse and Edward Elric. Both the brothers were abandoned by their father when they were very young and harbored intense love for their mother. The two brothers began taking an interest in alchemy and, at a young age, became extremely proficient at it. However, much to their despair, their mother fell extremely ill and sadly passed away. Leaving the two young boys only each other.

However, the loss of their mother made the two boys do something which they should never have done. The two brothers decided to revive their dead mother with the help of alchemy, the most forbidden thing to do and as predicted, things went extremely wrong.

While performing the experiment, Edward ended up losing his leg, whereas Alphonse was completely sucked into the great eye, and when he turned around to see if they had revived their dead mother, it turns out they had revived just the flesh and bones of a human. In absolute horror and disgust, Edward, unable to bear the loss of his brother, sacrifices one of his arms and brings back his soul from the great eye, and attaches it to an armor nearby. Now the two must boys must find a way to get their bodies back. However, it already might be too late.
