Boruto: Naruto Next Generations takes place almost 15 years after the events of The Great Ninja War. Naruto, our beloved character from the prequel, finally achieved his dream and is now the Hokage. In the last episode of Naruto Shippuden, we saw him getting married to Hinata. Both have started a family together and have two children together, their eldest son Boruto and their daughter Himawari.
Along with Naruto, most of his friends have also begun their own respective families, including Sasuke, who is now married to Sakura and has a daughter named Sarada. Most of his classmates, now jonin level ranking officers, help Naruto maintain peace and safety in Konohagakure. However, we must not forget this isn’t the story of Naruto. This is the story of his son Uzumaki Boruto.
Plot Of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations
In the first scene of the show itself, we see a destroyed Konohagakure. We see the hill with Hokage’s face completely destroyed, and on top of that, we see two new faces. On the hill over the destroyed Konohagakure, we see a grown-up boruto facing off a powerful foe Kawaki. Kawaki announces that the 8th Hokage is dead, which means that Naruto is dead. The events of Boruto take 3 years before this scene.
The show, with its shocking start, focuses its story on a now 12-year-old Boruto. An enthusiastic child who loves no one more than his mother, Uzumaki Hinata, and his younger sister Himawari. However, the same cannot be said for his father. As much as Boruto loves his family, he hates that his father never comes home to them and is always busy with his duties of the Hokage.
The story begins with boruto’s entry into the shinobi school and his adventures with his friend. With Boruto, we see that Konoha has transformed tremendously. The village is now filled with high-technology high-rise buildings. Moreover, it is no longer necessary for children to enter shinobi schools. They can be whoever they want. In Boruto, it seems that Konohagukure is finally at peace. However, as we know this peace isn’t going to last too long.
One day Boruto sees a dream. A dream in which Okutsuki Toneri calls him the chosen one. He tells him that a great danger is coming towards the shinobi world, and only he can stop it. When boruto, in a panic, wakes up, he sees that he has awakened a new power in his eye. However, no one believes him. After these events, he begins seeing something strange in the village—something which only he can see.
