The internet was shaken when the announcement for a Jump Force game was made public. This fighter game has a refreshing concept and brings the fictional and real-world together. With a character roster as big and diverse as this, it’s helpful and interesting to know all the characters and the series they come from. Here, we’ll be taking a look at the Jump Force Characters.
What Is Jump Force?
Jump Force is developed by Spike Chunsoft and was announced in E3 2018. It was released on February 15, 2019, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC
Nintendo Switch (Deluxe Edition). The came was published by Bandai Namco Games.
The game has a fascinating concept. Our favorite characters from the worlds of various anime and manga are brought together in a new and completely different reality— our world. The fate of humanity rests on the shoulders of the many powerful Jump heroes. They must work together to defeat a dangerous threat. Many Shonen Jump characters, from Naruto, Dragon Ball, One Piece, and several more, will be available to play and fight with.
You can create your dream team of anime characters with three members, marching into battle arenas and fighting near many iconic landmarks of the real world, such as New York City’s Times Square and the Matterhorn in the Alps. The game celebrates the 50th anniversary of our beloved characters born from the pages of Weekly Shounen Jump.
The game consists of a story mode, where you unravel the mystery and fight alongside the characters you have grown to love, from Bleach, Hunter X Hunter, YU-GI-OH!, YU YU Hakusho, Saint Seiya, to name a few. It also has an online mode where you can enter a lobby to discover other players, challenge them, or participate in different activities.
Jump Force Characters
The game contains about 40 playable characters from various shows, non-playable characters, and characters designed by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama exclusively for the game. Let’s take a look at the characters based on their series.
1. Dragon Ball
The main protagonist of the Dragon Ball series by Akira Toriyama looks majestic in the game. However, Goku lacks frame data and is a good character, but not excellent, as he lacks some powers compared to others in the game.
He is the anti-hero of Dragon Ball Z and the rival of Goku. The two of them are also considered best friends, though. He will join the team of Jump heroes in protecting the Earth from devastation. While he is mighty in the show, his abilities are only helpful in the game, not very effective or powerful.
He is yet another memorable character from the series. We know him as the enemy who became a loyal friend and the trainer of Gohan. His simplicity always makes us laugh while watching the show. However, in the game, his character is lackluster and doesn’t bring much to the battles.
He is Vegeta’s son, a time traveler, and great swordsman. He has been given many abilities; however, he isn’t very capable in the battles and can be dealt with damage quickly.
The infamous villain of the series, I still remember the excitement I felt every time I saw Goku defeat Frieza in the show. He is powerful and feared by everyone who knows of his deeds. Frieza teams up with Kane and Galena to get revenge on Goku and destroy our world. He isn’t a very useful player, though, as he is weak compared to the other characters.
Cell is created by an experiment, combining deadly abilities from many Dragon Ball Z characters. He teams up with Kane and Galena to bring chaos to our world. He is a character you want in your team, as he can deal lots of damage while taking very little.
He is the final antagonist in the Dragon Ball series and can take on different forms. The game incorporates his impressive chocolate beam ability, which will turn your opponent into a chocolate bar in the game. However, he isn’t very powerful in Jump Force battles.
2. One Piece
Monkey D. Luffy
He is the main protagonist of the popular anime and manga series, One Piece. He has a crew of lovable pirates with whom he searches for treasure and adventure. Luffy is a highly important and influential character in the game and will be helpful to gain victory.
He is the first member of Luffy’s crew and a very loyal friend and confidante of Luffy. He is a great swordsman and carries three swords with him. His character is powerful and highly helpful in the game.
Yet another powerful character and member of Luffy’s team. He is a powerful and able fighter. But his passion is cooking. He tends to fight with his lower body, keeping away his hands exclusively for cooking. His abilities are helpful but not very effective in battles.
She is the prettiest lady in the One Piece world and can turn anyone attracted to her to stone. She has strong abilities but isn’t very good or helpful in the game.
Sabo and Luffy had sworn an oath of brotherhood after they became best friends. He has the extraordinary ability to create and control fire. He is, however, not very strong in the game.
One of the only people in One Piece’s recorded history with two devil fruits’ abilities, he will likely be the series’s biggest villain. His powers in the game, however, are not very noteworthy.
Trafalgar D. Waterlaw
He is one of the most ferocious players in the game and can deal 90% damage on an opponent using a single combo. He is not a force to be reckoned with.
He is the main protagonist of one of the most famous anime series of this decade. He is well-known for his Nine-tailed fox ability, which is also seen in the game. However, his abilities aren’t on par with many high-rankers in the game, as he lacks the raw power.
He is the rival and best friend of Naruto and the antagonist for most of the time in the Naruto series. In the game, he silently helps the heroes protect humanity, using his Rinnegan and Sharingan abilities to completely floor opponents. He is one of the most powerful characters in the game, and you should include him in your team.
He is the leader of Team 7, and we see him along with the other members of our favorite team get together with the Jump Heroes. He uses lightning-fast techniques to defeat his opponents. However, he isn’t very strong and capable like others on the list.
Gaara is introduced as an antagonist initially but soon goes on to become Naruto’s friend and the able 5th Kazekage of his village. He uses his abilities to control the flow and movement of sand to trap his opponents and defend himself from their attacks. He is not a very strong character in the game, though.
She is the final villain that Naruto must face in the series. She was the very first being to have received chakra and is a very powerful opponent. However, in the game, her abilities are diminished.
He is a very intimidating villain in the Naruto series. He was the one responsible for the awakening of Kaguya, and in the game, he is seen to possess many abilities. Madara is a strong and challenging character.
4. Boruto: Naruto Next Generations
The son of Naruto and Hinata, he is the main protagonist of the series. He yearns for acceptance and attention from his busy father. Being called a prodigy by many, he has a high opinion of himself. He is a very weak character in the game, and you would be better off without him in your team.
He is the main protagonist of the series and is a Shinigami, a God of death. Ichigo deals with hollows, human souls that refuse to go to the spiritual plane, and aides other spirits in their journey to the afterlife. His character in the game is very powerful and makes an excellent addition to the team.
After an injury, she transfers her abilities, making Ichigo a soul reaper/shinigami. Rukia is not the best option to choose as a character in the game, as she lacks the skills compared to other members. You could have her in your team but would need to play carefully.
He is initially hostile towards Ichigo and is tasked with bringing Rukia back to the Soul Society from the Earth; however, he soon became an ally of Ichigo. He is also a soul reaper, along with his sword, Zabimaru. While he has useful abilities in the game, he can take on a lot of damage and isn’t worth keeping in your team.
He is the anti-hero of the series and possesses abilities that make people fear him; for instance, he uses the combined powers of Kido and Hado with his sword. He is a strong and useful character in the game and can deal a lot of damage to an opponent.
Toshiro is seen in the anime as the captain of the 10th division of the Gotei 13. His powers are seen in the game, as he looks glamorous in court and can dominate a battle if used well.
He is one of the main antagonists of the series and is considered opposite to Ichigo in terms of personality. He isn’t a very good character to have in your team while you play the game, though. While he has a few good matchups, his abilities are weak.
6. Hunter x Hunter
He is one of the protagonists in the show. He becomes a hunter in search of his father. Gon can transform into an adult version with long hair and a muscular, intimidating frame in the game. His other abilities, however, are not too special. In the story mode, he is seen to be possessed by Kane’s Dark Umbrass cube but later joins the others in saving the world.
He is Gon’s best friend and an assassin. He comes from the family of widely known assassins of the Zoldyck family. In the game, he can deal significant damage but also gets damaged easily. In the story mode, he first helps Gon snap out of the Dark Umbrass cube’s effects and then joins the Jump heroes to protect the world.
He is the last member of the Kurta clan; other members have all been slaughtered. He wishes to become a powerful hunter and avenge their deaths. In the game, his abilities are lacking, and he isn’t a character you want to keep in your team.
He is the antagonist in the series and is a very intimidating Nen-user. His abilities make people fear him. In the game, he is powerful but not the best option. His powers are good, but there are better characters to choose from. In the story mode, the character you create meets a confused Hisoka and offers him food, water, and shelter in return for his aid in the battles.
She is the teacher of Gon and a very powerful Nen-user. However, she is a weak character in the game, as she lacks the frame data and can be defeated by other characters’ attacks relatively easily.
He is the king of the Chimera Ants and a very intimidating presence in the series. In the game as well, he is a strong character but lacks the abilities to defeat some of the stronger foes and defend against their potent attacks, resulting in him taking a lot of damage from powerful attacks.
7. My Hero Academia
He is the protagonist in My Hero Academia and is initially born quirkless; however, a fateful encounter with his favorite hero, All-Might, ends up changing his life entirely. However, his abilities aren’t very instrumental in the game, and you could have better characters than him on your team.
He is the number 1 hero in the series and contains the One For All power that he passes on to Midoriya. While he is intensely powerful in the anime, his game character lacks these traits. He is powerful but lacks the strength that higher-ranked characters possess.
He’s a student of the wonderful Class 1-A and is sometimes the best friend of Deku and sometimes his rival. He is considered another protagonist in the show. In the game, his abilities range from moderate to above average. He is good to have on your team, but you will need a fair amount of practice to use him effectively.
He is the powerful son of the hero Endeavor. He is also considered the tritagonist in My Hero Academia. His powers include using ice and fire abilities to annihilate his opponents. In the game, he is remarkably powerful and one of the high-rankers. Todoroki will be a great addition to your team.
8. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
He is the protagonist in Stardust Crusaders who travels to Egypt to fight the main antagonist, Dio, and saves his ill mother. He is an extremely strong character in the game, yet another high ranker, and an excellent addition to your team. In the story mode of the game, he is initially controlled by Kane’s Dark Umbra, but he snaps out of its grasp by the Jump Heroes’ joint efforts and then decides to join them in defeating the evils that plague the world.
He is the main antagonist in the Phantom Blood and Stardust Crusaders. He is considered the main nemesis of the Joestar’s. Dio uses his Water Stand power to stop an opponent’s time and defeat them. 9. Yu Yu Hakusho
He is the main protagonist in the series and is a Spirit detective tasked with protecting the human world from physical and supernatural threats. He kills spirits using his Spirit Gun. In the game, he is an average character and doesn’t stand out very much. He is helpful in battles but not the best.
Toguro is an antagonist in the series and played an essential part in the Dark Tournament arc. He is immensely powerful and was initially a good person but is corrupted by the demon’s powers. He is a strong character in the game and can dominate a battlefield.
He is the ally and rival of Yusuke. He is called the master of the Evil Eyes as well. Moreover, his name means “Flying Shadow.” The game shows him having various abilities. He is a strong character and has many skill sets. However, he has a few weaknesses in battle that you will have to overcome if fighting against some powerful characters.
10. Saint Seiya
Seiya is the main character in the series. He is a warrior saint who serves Athena and wears a divine power armor which is called Cloth. While he is a strong character and can deal a lot of damage, his growth in the game is limited, and he also quickly takes damage. Use him wisely.
Shiryu is the calmest and most respectful of the eight warriors. His Cloth is considered the strongest and hardest. It is said to be harder than diamond. In the game, he is a strong character but by no means the strongest. Some of the others can defeat him, so be careful when you fight with him in your team.
11. Rurouni Kenshin
He is the main protagonist of the series Samurai X. He once lived as an assassin and had killed many people; now, he atones for his sins, traveling the Japanese countryside and helping the poor and needy. In the game, his abilities are average and not too daring; however, he does have an intimidating presence on the battlefield.
He was to be the assassin successor of Kenshin but was betrayed by the Meiji Government, and his unusual appearance is since his body was doused in oil and lit on fire. After he survived and escaped, he has made it his goal to exact revenge on those that betrayed him. He isn’t all that powerful in the game and wouldn’t be very useful in a battle.
He is the protagonist of the series and is a master dueler and King of Games. Yugi has the ancient spirit Yami Yugi with him. He can use Dark Magician Monster Card in the game along with Dark Magician Girl. However, he isn’t very powerful and wouldn’t make a great addition to your team in the game.
Kaiba is the anti-hero in the series, and he owns a major portion of the gaming conglomerate, KaibaCorb, where he is the CEO. He is one of the stronger characters in the game and makes a great addition to a team; however, he has a few weaknesses.
13. Black Clover
He is the main protagonist of the show and has a fascinating story, born as an orphan and ending up as the “Wizard King.” He wields the five-leaf clover Grimoire, which allows him to use anti-magic. He is not a useful character in the game and is very weak. In the story mode, he is initially under the control of the villains, Kane and Galena, but snaps out of it and helps the others in protecting the real and the surrounding Jump worlds.
14. Fist of the North Star
Kenshiro is the main character of this show and wishes to find, and seek revenge on the person who abducted his wife. Kane and Galena
